Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center opening soon!
Baird, a global financial services firm with offices in Houston, will serve as grand opening sponsor of the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center—A Very Special Project of the Children’s Museum of Houston. The Discovery Center will host its grand opening at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Baird donated $20,000 to offer free admission to the public for the day. And the first 500-children to arrive, will receive commemorative t-shirts!
“It is our privilege to help the Museum extend its reach and deliver high-quality educational programming to children and their families in the Fort Bend community,” said Jan Bartholomew, a Managing Director with Baird’s Public Finance business in Houston. “The Houston area is a vitally important and growing market to Baird, which has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work.”
The Discovery Center is Imperial Market’s first establishment to open in its much-awaited commercial property development on U.S. Route 90 in Sugar Land. Housed on the first floor of a 12,500 square foot repurposed historical building at Imperial Market (formerly known as Imperial Sugar and which is now being restored by Johnson Development), and with the mission to transform communities through innovative child-centered learning, six galleries will be managed as platforms for learning for children from birth to 12-years.
