Construction work is progressing northward on Dairy Ashford, and work necessary to prepare for a temporary traffic signal at U.S. Highway 90A began this week.
The project is intended to improve mobility, the number one concern of residents as expressed in our most recent citizen satisfaction survey; address safety along one of our busiest roadways, ensuring Sugar Land remains safer than ever before; and enhance street drainage, as the city's commitment to aggressively investing in infrastructure continues.
Under the guidance of an arborist, the city has proactively worked with the construction consultant to minimize tree removal. These efforts have already saved 15 trees, and we will continue to conduct field assessments as the project progresses to possibly save more trees.
