Tropical Weather Update from the City of Sugar Land
The threat to our city is gone. Despite heavy rainfall during the course of the event, the city’s drainage infrastructure performed as designed, and city crews from Public Works, Fire-EMS, Police, Engineering and many more worked around the clock to keep Sugar Land safe.
Sugar Land weathered the same heavy rain bands that affected other areas such as southwest Houston, Friendswood and Pearland. Much of the city remained clear and passable with just a few isolated incidents of street flooding.
Despite a return to normal, we should all remain prepared because hurricane season continues through November.
