Sugar Land Fire - EMS crews train on drafting

Forum Image

Where do the Sugar Land firefighters get water when there are no hydrants around to help put out fires? Though Sugar Land Fire - EMS have plenty of hydrants within the City of Sugar Land, their crews train on drafting in case they need to use it in an emergency. A Shift is working to always be prepared!

Drafting is the process of raising water from a static source to supply a pumper. This type of operation may occur from any type of static water source including lakes, ponds, portable tanks, and water-carrying vehicles without pumps.
