ARREST: On Sept. 2 at 5 a.m., Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to a citizen’s call about a theft in progress at a residential construction site located on the 11400 block of Cypress Elm in Richmond. The citizen reported a subject loading construction materials at a home under construction. Responding FBCSO Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle as the driver was attempting to flee the scene in a van loaded with residential framing lumber. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Jose Villa, 52, of Houston was arrested and charged with Theft—a Class A Misdemeanor—and remains in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail with bond set at $500.
“The Sheriff’s Office continues to search for those responsible for committing crimes in Fort Bend County,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “The vigilance of citizens combined with the quick response of Sheriff’s Deputies ensures those responsible for crime in our county are held accountable for their actions.”
