Mental health awareness and resources in the City of Sugar Land
During the City of Sugar Land’s September 7, 2021 meeting, the Sugar Land City Council made a powerful proclamation designating September as National Suicide Prevention Month. As many walk through life silently fighting battles, every member of this community should know they matter. That's why they are also featuring five incredible local artists who painted these locally-made wooden boxes. The boxes will ultimately be placed in locations throughout the City next to concrete stamps that will contain inspirational messages and information on free mental health resources. ❤ Sugar Land residents were invited to join them at Brazos River Park yesterday on Sept. 8, at 4:30 p.m. for the unveiling of the first Project Hope mural created in partnership with Hope For The Day to increase mental health awareness and resources in Sugar Land. The City encourages residents to join them on their social media throughout the month as they reveal even more mental health public art throughout this sweet city!
