A survey of the highest-ranked seniors in Fort Bend ISD’s Class of 2022 reveals the majority will attend some of the most prestigious and highly-ranked colleges and universities in the nation as they continue their educational careers.

Also, the amount of scholarship offers received by all members of their Class of 2022 so far is $141 million and counting!

“The Class of 2022 demonstrates the success that is attainable in our District and illustrates how, despite the challenges of the last two years, Fort Bend ISD continues to produce standout graduates who are the best and the brightest,” FBISD Superintendent Dr. Christie Whitbeck said. “We are proud of the fact that when our students leave the District, they are academically equipped and prepared to compete at the highest levels in college.”

Students at FBISD’s 11 high schools who are graduating with a class rank of 1 through 10 were surveyed, and 68 percent have been accepted at the nation’s top institutions of higher learning.

Six FBISD students will attend MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), seven will attend Rice, two will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, two will attend the University of California at Berkeley, others will attend Yale, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Georgetown, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, University of California – San Diego, and Loyola Marymount University.

When it comes to the highest-ranked schools in Texas, 37 of the District’s top graduates will attend The University of Texas at Austin, 10 will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, while 13 will attend the University of Houston.

In lieu of college, one student will join the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation, one will join the Navy, and one will move directly into a high-demand career by attending a welding academy.
