Yesterday their own Detective J. Castillo was presented with an assistance check from the Texas Association of First Responders to help support him and his family. Det. Castillo sustained serious injuries after a car accident in the line of duty.

The Texas Association of First Responders (TAFR) was created in 2007 to benefit law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel injured in the line of duty. Their mission is to honor those who serve their communities and ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens.

Since its inception, TAFR has issued over $350,000 in funds for assistance of injured first responders.
