SLPD will never ask you to pay for unpaid tickets or any other fee over the phone, and they certainly will NEVER ask you to pay for anything in gift cards! If there is a warrant for your arrest due to unpaid traffic citations, their warrant officers may contact you, but they will NEVER ask for payment over the phone, and they will NEVER ask for gift cards! Be smart! If you get a call like this and you’re not sure if it is real or not.
