The City of Sugar Land Police and Firefighters Partner for Public Safety Extravaganza

Sugar Land Officers got to do something incredible on Saturday, November 4, 2023 when they partnered with the Sugar Land Fire Department at the Public Safety Extravaganza. The event itself was a huge success. Officers and Firefighters got to spend time with some really cool people and pass along life-changing safety tips, but that wasn’t the only incredible part. For the first time, this event also doubled as a Holiday toy drive! I know that last sentence may be panic-inducing for some, “No! It can’t be time for presents yet. I can’t be behind on shopping already!”. Breathe deep, we’ll all get through this together. Now that you have all collectively gathered yourselves, back to the point. Officers got to take in the donations of new unwrapped toys on behalf of Toys for Tots. It was a humbling moment to know that they got to be part of a child’s Christmas, like knowing that you helped put the Red Rider under Ralphie’s tree. As they gave out tips and took in gifts, it was impossible not to get a little nostalgic. They caught themselves thinking back to the favorite gifts they had ever received, as they took in so many toys sure to put smiles on the faces of kids in the community. While the Public Safety Extravaganza has come and gone it is not too late to donate your new and unwrapped toys at any of the Toys for Tots donation boxes around town. Snap a pic while you drop your new unwrapped toys in the donation box and share it proudly.
