Job Opportunity: Development Coordinator - Parks
 
Are you passionate about shaping vibrant communities through thoughtful park development? Join the Sugar Land Parks and Recreation team as a Development Coordinator and play a pivotal role in creating spaces that enhance the quality of life for Sugar Land residents!
 
Responsibilities:
 
Assist in various Parks Development projects and Operation & Maintenance initiatives.
 
Prepare compelling presentations for PARCS Board, City Council, and other key stakeholders.
 
Represent the Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Engineering Department.
 
Review park construction plans for accuracy and compliance with established goals.
 
Collaborate with Parks Maintenance Superintendent during design and planning phases.
 
Engage with citizens at public meetings and work closely with task forces for community input.
 
Contribute to the revision of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plans.
 
Submit plan updates to Texas Parks and Wildlife, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
 
Identify and pursue valuable grant opportunities to positively impact park development.
 
Coordinate compliance with various departments and agencies for seamless project execution.
 
Facilitate volunteer coordination for park improvement initiatives.
 
Maintain excellent public relations and address citizen concerns professionally.
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field from an accredited school or university.
 
An advanced degree or additional exempt-level work experience may be considered in lieu of specific education or experience requirements.
 
Two years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction.
 
Parks development experience is a plus.
 
Municipal experience is a plus.
