The public is invited to stroll through Sienna to help raise awareness about childhood cancer during the Gold Stroll Sienna starting at 8:30 am Saturday, Sept. 23, at Sawmill Lake Club, 10323 Mount Logan in Missouri City.

Proceeds from the event will benefit A Shelter for Cancer Families, a non-profit that provides free tangible support -- such as housing near the Texas Medical Center -- to families affected by cancer. Every $125 raised pays for one night of housing -- complete with personal kitchens, family gathering areas and washers and dryers.

The registration fee for the one-mile walk is $30 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-18, and free for children under 4.
