Moth Night at Seabourne Creek Nature Park
Moth Night at Seabourne Creek Nature Park

Event Details:

Celebrate the final night of the Texas Pollinator BioBlitz with an evening of moths, magic, and discovery! Blacklighting stations will attract moths and other fascinating nighttime insects. Come see what emerges after dark!

An iNaturalist Ambassador and Texas Master Naturalists will help participants learn how to photograph, identify, and record their discoveries. Bring your curiosity and a flashlight or headlamp to discover Seabourne Creek's nighttime pollinators. Other supplies needed for mothing and the other stations will be provided.

Dress for an entirely outdoor event. A long-sleeve shirt, pants, long socks, closed-toe shoes, and a neck gaiter or hat are strongly encouraged, as is bug spray applied in the parking lot. Park in the parking lot and follow the path toward the Native Plant Garden. Blacklight stations will be located in the Butterfly Garden, Native Plant Garden, Prairie, and Wetlands areas. Participants are invited to join the event's iNaturalist project. You may stay until 10 PM or leave at any time during the event.

The Texas Pollinator BioBlitz is an annual, two-week statewide citizen science event organized by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department that invites people of all ages to observe, photograph, and identify local pollinators and nectar-producing plants.

This public event is hosted by the Texas Master Naturalist Coastal Prairie Chapter, City of Rosenberg - Government, and two other hosts not identified in the screenshot.
