A Sugarland manufacturing company is seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant with 5-7 years of experience to join our team and help maintain accurate financial records that support our continued success. This role requires someone who is organized, adaptable, and capable of wearing many hats in a fast-paced environment. This role will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and generating financial reports. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and comfortable working in a small office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record and categorize all financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., Deltek ComputerEase)
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor statements monthly
• Prepare and issue invoices; follow up on accounts receivable
• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
• Process payroll and related reporting via Deltek ComputerEase
• Maintain and organize financial records and documentation
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
• Collaborate with the company’s CPA for tax preparation and compliance
• Monitor budgets and cash flow
• Perform other administrative and bookkeeping duties as needed
• Serve as the primary point of contact and support for the business owner
• Draft, edit, and proofread business documents, emails, and reports with clarity and professionalism
• Coordinate office operations and manage vendor relationships
• Assist with project coordination, client communications, and confidential matters
• Anticipate needs, streamline processes, and implement solutions that support business growth
Qualifications:
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant or in a similar role
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
