Are kids allowed to set up lemonade stand in public...

Are kids allowed to set up lemonade stand in public places...such as at town square or right outside Kroger...or do they have to stick to on the front yard? Had a discussion about this with a colleague when we came across an article about permit required to sell lemonade.

@liater First, I don't think the places you mentioned could be considered public. Yes, the public goes to Kroger and Town Square, but those would be considered private property.

I would stick to right in front of your driveway/doorstep, it decreases the chances of any infractions or offences. I would probably treat the lemonade stand like an estate or garage sale, as in, we wouldn't have our old clothes or jewellery for sale in front of Kroger.

Wow @AJ8410, i was just thinking about public parks, such as Lost Creek, but then it a be risky too.

@liater Yep, I'm pretty sure you need a permit almost anywhere that isn't your own home. You also have to be aware of the HOA in your neighborhood. Some of them don't allow garage sales, I don't know about lemonade stands. We live in an HOA free neighborhood so we've never had to deal with that issue.
