From May of 2019 to June of 2020, over 10 violent home invasions occurred in and around the Sugar Land area including 5 in the Alkire Lake area. Two masked armed men would enter the homes usually by forced entry or open back doors and tie up the residents with zip ties. The masked intruders would steal valuables from the residences and then drive away with the victim's vehicle. Victims were never able to see the offender's faces due to their clothing and investigative leads were few and far between.

In May of 2020, Sugar Land Detectives were able to locate multiple suspect vehicles through the City's License Plate Recognition (LPR) system. They teamed up with the Houston Police Department and they were able to arrest three subjects in June of 2020 shortly after they committed a home invasion robbery in their city. SLPD Detectives conducted interviews and gathered crucial digital evidence from their cell phones including text messages, call logs and photos linking them to many of the crimes.

Recently, the following individuals plead guilty in Federal court and received the following sentences:

Timothy Dion Morant, 55 years of age received 27 years in Federal prison

Alvin Woods, 45 years old received 20 years in Federal prison

Chikevia Roberts, 32 years of age will be sentenced soon

Perhaps they are similar ?
Consider, for example, the walking catfish, which is now colonising China, Thailand and the United States, after escaping from fish farms and ornamental ponds(6). It can move across land at night, reaching water that no other fish species has colonised. It slips into fish farms and quietly works through the stock. It can burrow into the mud when times are hard and lie without food for months, before exploding back into the ecosystem when conditions improve. It eats almost anything that moves.

I think their sentences are about 30 years too short for each of them. All 3 of them will still be young enough, after serving 50% of their time, to continue doing this.
