Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land doles out bonuses

There are 153 employees at Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land. While it remains open as an essential business, owner Ken Enders understands that during stay-at-home orders during the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on families and employees.
With that in mind, Enders authorized bonuses of $1,000 each for all 153 employees. The bonuses were paid to employees from technicians to executive management.
At Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land, our employees are our company, the single most valuable asset we have," said Enders in a news release. "My hope is that these bonuses will assist my employees and their families in some small way."
To date, the family-owned dealership has not made any layoffs or furloughs amid a struggling economy.
"This is why I love working for Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land," said Steve Ho, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land assistant service manager. "I've been here seven years and always tell people that our dealership is a family. We are taken care of and that's why we are so focused on taking care of our clients. It's a special place to be, especially right now."
Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land opened in 2003. It is owned by President and owner Kenneth W. Enders, a former senior vice president of marketing and sales for Mercedes-Benz USA, and partner Stephen A. Lasher. The dealership is privately owned.
