Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus in Sugar Land

Mosquitoes collected near Lexington Blvd. and Sugar Crossing Dr. have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The City has increased mosquito treatment in surrounding areas and continues close coordination with the Texas Department of State Health Services to monitor and reduce risk.

We highly encourage you to take the following precautions while outdoors:
-Use insect repellent with DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus
-Wear long sleeves and pants
-Avoid being outside at dusk and dawn
-Drain standing water around your home
