POST HOLIDAY TIPS
Now that all of the presents have been opened, Constable Mark Herman's Office wants to share some Post Holiday Safety Tips to help keep your new toys and gifts safe!

- Increased spending means more chances to become a victim of identity theft. Monitor your bank and credit card statements and immediately report any suspicious charges.

-Don't advertise your holiday gifts to would-be thieves by placing the empty boxes out for trash. Cut the boxes up and place them in trash bags that conceal their contents.

-If you got a valuable item as a gift, make sure you record the serial number and any identifying information in a safe place.

- If you received cash for a holiday gift, deposit it in the bank or in a safe location inside your residence. Don't keep large amounts of cash in your wallet.

- When you get ready to dispose of your tree, don't dump it illegally. Check out Houston's tree recycling program and your heavy waste collection date.
