Sugar Land Begins Temporary Chlorine Conversion in Water Supply

Loading Image...

From the City of Sugar Land:

It's officially that time of year, Sugar Land, Chlorine Conversion has begun! Sugar Land is temporarily converting the disinfectant used in the water treatment process from chloramine to free chlorine beginning TODAY April 8 through Tuesday May 6.

Staff will be flushing hydrants in the main system as part of the chlorine conversion process. You may notice slight changes in taste or odor in your water, don't worry it's safe for all your water needs.

You might notice discolored water when you turn on your faucet. That is normal and temporary, simply run your faucet for 10-15 minutes and the discolored water will pass.
