Telfair- The Hell Hole on the Brazos

While my dear wife and son #3 had errands to run this morning, son #4 and I went for a bicycle ride. We hunted geocaches around Telfair..

This one was really cool at the old prison Cemetery. We had read about it online, and son #4, being 5 and afraid of ghosts and skeletons had to screw up his courage to go looking there, but we found it.

Interesting bit of history, you can read below.

Afterward we had a nice lunch at DQ. Great to spend time with my son being adventurers........next time maybe not at lunch time.....it was hot.

That is pretty cool. They preserved the cemetary and I actually saw the dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting one day. Love all the history of Sugar Land

Thanks for sharing. You are to be admired for all the time you spend with your kids on these simple adventures. They are the ones they will always remember and think about when they look back

They should name some high schools after the early settlers!

a few years ago, it was thought that they were going to put a high school there. Looks like its not happening anymore.

Me and some other faithful brothers from Chuck Colson prison fellowship invested in the lives of a ton of "men in white" over the years down at that Old Central Farm.
Lives were changed for the better!

I am not sure about the school.... we heard this late last year, but I dont see any ground being worked over there......I believe there are two parcels, one owned by FBISD for the school, and the other, where the graveyard is, for the park. It was on the bond issue a few years ago, but that park didn't pass.

I'm hoping they open up,the prison for,tours.."...........I'm a,prison junkie.....I spent a whole,day walking around Alcatraz!

Other than our 1st trip to Walt Disney World, it's all the "little" adventures we did when the kids were young that they continue to reminisce about.

Your fortunate, our kids don't remember squat and we hauled their little butts all over the country. We only got a baby sitter one time in 12 years.

I think a technical school was/is going to be built in that area . This is the only info on the school on FBISD site. It used to give the location, but that info is gone now.

Career and Technical Education Facility
Scheduled to open Fall 2018, the District's new Career and Technical Education facility will service approximately 2,000 FBISD students daily through half-day programs. Plans include five student-run enterprise businesses that will be open to the community, such as a full service restaurant and credit union.
