I stopped by the "Toast" restaurant in the new strip mall behind the HEB on highway 6 and 90.

There are a lot of new breakfast places opening up in the area, and some wont make it. Toast was started by the owners of the Grove Do-Nutz & Deli in Richmond.....I really hope this one survives....its local.

I had Vietnamese Steak and Eggs, and was blown away by the quality of the meat. Tender, marinated, full of flavor.....it would have been considered excellent at a steak house, and to find it here with eggs was a great surprised.

Also had a maple bacon doughnut because....well I guess you don't need a reason.

Try it......

I'm not big on donuts any time, but I do love a good steak for breakfast.

Google maps still shows that as an empty field with an unpaved road. I wanted breakfast in the worst way this morning, and drove right up 6 past this site. Next time!

Do you mean just today, or both times? Because the first trip it looks like sourdough with great holes in it.

@BlackBird : Wow, French is not supposed to look like that, sourdough is. As far as I'm concerned, if it tastes good it is 'right'. I appreciate the detailed critiques.
