asian grocery store food courts are the best places to have variety of foods to sample. It's better than driving to chinatown and getting in and out of your car just to try different restaurants.

I agree. The cafeteria inside 99 ranch is pretty good food. You might gag at the thought but they have this thing I call "fish cakes," not sure what the correct term is but it is minced fish baked into a meat loaf form. It's delicious to me and I love it with the fried rice and duck.

Sounds interesting. Especially the duck. Haven't had duck in quite a few years.

Clements High School in 1st Colony is predominantly Asian. Has been for quite a while. Chinese parents want their kids there. Strong Indian/Middle East population there also. Very good school. I work there as the resident substitute. So yes Sugar Land has a huge Asian population.

It's why I moved to the first colony area, no lie. My first grader has a long way to go but I want him in Clements to be with the smart children who have tiger/helicopter parents lol

It's not a good school if you want to go to my school.....University of Texas. Just ask my Houston, UTSA, Texas State and Texas Tech children. They all graduated, but they couldn't get into UT.

I was hoping one of them could make it into UT which would make picking my favorite child a whole lot easier.

Our target uni is Rice for the engineering program. UHouston (GO COOGS!!) is also an excellent engineering school. Come to think of it, Texas has quite the buffet of awesome schools for engineering.. And yes, my boy already picked his career path lol. I went to the lowly Stafford HS (used to be a decent school, not anymore) and just missed top 10% graduating class by 2 people!! I still got into UT but my dad wouldn't let me because he heard it was a party school.

Can be very hard to get accepted because UT and A&M both receive tens of thousands of applications from all over Texas and elsewhere. Most of those applications can be from straight A students. They can't accept all of them. How do they choose? The guy who is one of the "choosers" at UT told me it's all about the essay. That's where the student can stand out among the rest.

You better have been saving since little Darth Vader was born, it takes a lot of pesos to attend Rice.
