@Stealth83 : I don't either. I completely understand. I won't be partying since I get up early am. Enjoy your day.

@zoomchum : This was taken from Wikipedia
Mardi Gras (/ˈmɑːrdi ˌɡrɑː/), or Fat Tuesday, refers to events of the Carnival celebration, beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Epiphany (Three Kings Day) and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday (known as Shrove Tuesday). Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.

I moved here from New Orleans & I miss the Mardi Gras season. We called it that instead of Carnival as is the correct name for the 6+ weeks of parades & parties. Most of the people who live there actually get off work on Fat Tuesday.
It was like 1 long party that lasted for weeks. Some people find it a big headache due to road closures & detours for the parades. I loved it! When you're standing or sitting on the parade route, everybody gets along (for the most part) & there's cheering & toasts & laughter. Boy, just thinking about it makes me smile then sigh with a few tears in my eyes. I'm going to do my best to go next year! 😁

The only way I'd be anywhere near New Orleans is if I had a balcony view, I hate big crowds. I was there for St Paddy's day one year and that was crazed enough for me!
